A turbo timer allows an engine to idle for a preset time after the ignition key has been turned to the off position and removed. By allowing a turbocharged engine to idle, oil continues to pass through the turbo until it has cooled down to the point where oil "coking" will not occur.
The new GReddy Full Auto Timers pack tons of features in one economical, compact unit. And now there is a Stopwatch/Lap Time mode, and Attack mode. There is also a built in Voltmeter and Speedometer. Still standard in this turbo timer are the optional Parking Brake and Speedo Safety hook-ups. The GReddy turbo timer features voltage display with warning, full auto countdown mode, lap time, 0-200m, 0-400m, 200-400m, 0-100km/h, 0-200km/h, and speedometer display with peak/hold.
- Main cause of turbo failure is oil "coking"
- Turbo timer allows an engine to be idle for certain predefined time
- This turbio timer is economical and compact
Shutting down a turbo engine "hot" can cause "Heat Soak", where the temperature of the oil inside the turbo gets hot enough to form a varnish or a hard coke that can harm turbo bearings and seals. In addition to using a good quality oil, our Turbo Timer will let your engine idle down to safe temperatures securely without the inconvenience of sitting in the vehicle for minutes. In addition to two standard programmable count down presents (P-1, P-2) our timer also has two Auto Timer modes,(A-L, A-H) which estimates the driving RPM according to the vehicles alternator signal and then recommends a count down timer.
The number one cause of turbo failure is oil "coking". Oil "coking" occurs when a turbocharger is not properly cooled down and the oil that normally lubricates the center cartridge heats up and forms solidified oil deposits.
